composition no. 1

Composition no. 1 from the collection of the artist — interior designer Anna Komar “Ash-filled sky over a charred forest”.

The work was painted in 2022.

To create the compositions, a natural base was chosen: solid lime wood.

The picture is painted in the style of abstract painting. Asymmetrical compositions are made in a monochromatic palette: from deep black, passing into brown, to light gray matte acrylic. Black color prevails in the compositions, conveying depth and saturation, creating a sense of immersion and mystery. All the color patches transition from one to the other in a gradient. In addition to the color patches, a quartz sand texture is present, creating a stone porous base.

The name of the collection can interpret meaning both visually and philosophically. The story takes us into a static and fluidly dynamic melancholic mood. The viewer can share with the author an immersion in mystery, in the search for support and security. The period of writing the work was for Anna a period of beginning to explore Eastern culture and craft, which prompted a desire for change and acceptance of one’s essence.
